X-Ray Department/Osteoporosis Center
The Emery Neuroscience Center offers a wide variety of X-ray and bone scan testing, which is often used to test for osteoporosis. The x-ray equipment at the Emery Neuroscience Center is hospital grade, the finest in Radiology technology. Scan categories include: routine x-rays of the skull, cervical and lumbar spine including flexion and extension views which aid in quality diagnosing and treating patients, fluoroscopy for viewing needle placements for epidurals; our newest technology is bone densitometry.

Bone densitometry allows Dr. Emery to determine healthy bones in pre and post menopausal women.  Osteoporosis is a major public health threat for 28 million Americans, 80 percent of whom are women.

Osteoporosis is essentially the atrophy of bone mass, and our bone densitometry equipment measures bone mass and determines the risk of osteoporosis. Our x-ray technologist, Susan Crane, is a licensed radiology technologist, registered with the State of Florida Radiation

Control and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

 Her twenty years of experience gives her knowledge in all phases of radiology.  This new department opens the door to new treatments of neurologic disorders.
